FIFTY-FIFTY WALL Named Fifty-Fifty after the lamp’s counterweight system that creates equilibrium between the two parts, it is clear to see how Sam Weller’s references to physics and engineering influence the design. Based on the idea of stripping a multi-purpose task light to its fundamental elements, Fifty-Fifty balances refined, pared-back aesthetics with optimal functionality. This largest and latest addition to the Fifty-Fifty family, the wall-mounted lamp uses most of the same components as the rest of the family, with configurable aluminium components and robust steel wall brackets and counter weight. The extruded cantilever arm is easy to tilt and pivot, featuring a touch-sensitive dimmer switch for precisely positioning and controlling the integrated LED light source. At 4.29 p.m. on 9th February, 1927 Eduard-Wilfrid Buquet feild his patent for parts of this table lamp, particularly the flexible joints, at the Ministère du Commerce et l'Industrie in Paris. Various versions were produced until the 1940's. Although little is known about Buquet we do know that he produced this lamp himself and probably designed it as well. We had to modify certain details for technical reasons, namely the interior of the flexible joints and the stand, which used to be made of wood. Since the small reflector will only take a small holder, we have equipped the lamp with halogen 50 Watt. The transformer is housed in the stand, which is thus made of metal. Virtually all the parts have to be handmade. The brass, which is the metal used, has been finished with a 0.9000 silver coating, and finally brushed to provide a matt surface. Designers Lievore - Altherr - Molina have designed a seat collection with understated geometries and a strong visual presence in the workspace. In the Chancellor chairs, the armrests are a continuation of the seat and offer new scope for expression as well as improved levels of comfort and relaxation. The Chancellor chair is available in the President, Executive, Managerial, Meeting and Visitor models. The Chancellor President, Executive and Managerial versions are height-adjustable, swivel and the backrest and seat come with a sophisticated “Syncron” oscillation mechanism that allows the user to assume a continuous series of 5 positions ranging from a straight seat back to genuine chaise-longue. The Chancellor Visitor chair is equipped with a sophisticated swivel mechanism whose thrust bearing allows the chair to rotate and return to its original position. The base of the Chancellor chairs is in tubular steel, chrome-plated or with dark grey lacquer. The President, Executive and Managerial versions have a five-spoke base with soft automatic-braking castors or slides, while the Visitor chair has a four-spoke base with slides.
