In Decentered City: Multispecies Design, a “decentered approach” implies redistributing agency in spatial production, challenging conventional urbanization models and envisioning new ways of inhabiting the world, acknowledging the ecological crisis and fostering interspecies urban environments.
Dearq journal invites the international academic community to submit papers reflecting on practices that move beyond anthropocentric design, decentralize its supporting infrastructures, and dismantle outdated urban models. It aims to reclaim the city for non-human agents and restore natural processes, underscoring the importance of multi-actor and multi-temporal dynamics.
